I gave in to the quizzing trend...

Yeah, so I finally took this quiz.

You are Leonardo Da Vinci.

You are artistic, and incredibly intelligent. You look at the world in a different way than most people, and you are very imaginative. Things that seem impossible to most people are easy for you.

This one was kinda fun. Give it a try and let me know what you get!

I'm a bad blogger....

Yes, it's me. And, no, I haven't been on vacation.

Actually, I've been kinda busy and really just didn't make time to note what's going on with me and mine. So here goes a quick recap.

Job's going well, I'm probably up for promotion to Shift Supervisor in a month or so. Have to say that the job is really good to me, though the pay isn't great; that brings me to point number two.

I'm moving. More correctly, my wife and I are moving. Out of our apartment, and into an 'apartment' with my parents. Yikes.

Yeah.

This is mostly prompted by the lack of funds at our disposal (Katie's job is producing almost no income, though it does help). And though I'm seriously considering attending school to get a teaching certificate and Katie's going soon to an interview that would give us a much greater income (an aquatics assistant position, a definite step up from her lifeguard job), those monetary increases aren't happening soon enough for us to be able to move into an apartment that we would feel save living in and would bring us close enough to our jobs. Plus, the much lower rent than we're now paying to live at my parents' place is a nice perk, and will help us build up a savings that we'd like to have for future expenses that are sure to arrive (like car repairs, downpayment on an apartment or house for rent, and other assorted items).

And so we move.

Our plan is to have a good part of our 'stuff' packed by the weekend, with an official move out date of November 29. We've rented the prerequisite U-haul truck and are borrowing my father-in-law's truck to facilitate the move; with the help of family and friends it will go smoothly and quickly. God willing, we'll be moved in by the end of that day, just in time for me to get a shower, go to bed, and get up by 4:00 the next morning to open with my supervisor at Starbucks. Ahh, those 4:45 am opening shifts... nothing like 'em.

So that's it for now. Hopefully I'll be blogging regularly now, and maybe have more interesting stuff to share later. Maybe.

Oh, yeah, here's the thought for the day:

Internet's Back!

Yep, so I've been without Internet access (at least at my apartment) for the last week and a half; consequentially, I've not posted on this page. But now that it's back, I'm back, and feel the need to communicate.

Anyway.

We now have a new manager at my Starbucks. Her name is Cindy; she was an assistant manager at two previous stores, and this is her first managerial position. This is her first official week and it's been going well; the transition between managers was very smooth. Which I'm grateful for, considering the stories I've heard about manager transitions at other locations that weren't nearly as positive.

My lunch has arrived (my wife just returned with lunch after finishing her shift), and so I leave. Hopefully I'll be more intersting (and punctual) with my next post.
