It's a Job

Two days ago, a very perturbed man came into my Starbucks and talked to my Shift Supervisor, claiming that our manager treated his girlfriend badly and was very "short" with her. In addition to getting our District Manager's phone number, he said he was very disappointed with our lack of service. That itself would've been fine, and well within his 'rights' to complain about; but he proceeded to claim that he has "gotten managers fired for less than this" and "we won't have her (my manager) as our manager for long".
Whatever sympathy he might've had at the beginning of that conversation was completely lost with those last remarks. My Shift Supervisor smiled and wished him a good day as he left, only to comment later that we should've offered him a Venti Nonfat, No Foam, Shut-The-Hell-Up Latte on the house.

And here's an interesting quote:

Hocine bibo aut in eum digitos insero?

(Do I drink this or stick my fingers in it?)

Exactly.

Just a pint off the top...

Yesterday, my wife and I went to give blood at a local Carter Blood Care Bus. Well, local as in McKinney; but it was on our way to her job so it worked out nicely. Hopefully the results from the blood tests will come back soon; I don't know what my blood type is and am really curious to know as they're supposed to have that information available to us soon. Anyway, if you've never given blood before and and don't have any problems giving blood (needle issues, low iron count or deadly diseases), I'd encourage you to go out and give a pint. It's a great way to help out a total stranger and you'll get back test results for free; additionally, you'll get that warm fuzzy feeling inside of doing a good thing and the same fuzzy feeling in your head if you stand up too quickly right after donating (personal experience says that last one is very true).

First Post

This is the first... and will not be the last. Maybe.
